Tuesday, May 13:  Stormwater Ordinance Meeting

The second meeting of th Stormwater Ordinance Task Force will be held  at 2 p.m. in the Public Works Conference Room on the third floor of City Hall.  This is an open meeting; interested members of the public may attend, but may not make presentations.
At 5 p.m. the Public Works Committee will meet and take comments from the public. To learn more about the proposed Ordinance update, please visit our Conservation webpage.  

Tuesday, May 13:  Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle Technology     

How can emerging technologies in the automobile industry address the rising cost of petroleum? The Piedmont Plateau Sierra Club Group in Greensboro will  hear James Poch, Executive Director of the non-profit Plug-in Hybrid Coalition, explain how the electrification of the automobile sector will benefit our nation’s economy, environment, and national security. Mr. Poch will have a plug-in hybrid prototype on hand.  Information on plug-in hybrids and the coalition may be found at www.plugincarolina.org.

This program will be held at Greensboro's environmental library, Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch in Price Park, 420 Price Park Drive, off  the section of Hobbs that runs between New Garden Road and Jefferson.  Arrive early to walk the trails in the park. From 7:00 - 7:30,  enjoy  refreshments and social time. The program begins at 7:30.

8:00-9:30 Registration--Sign in, pick up citizen packets with talking points, maps
etc and packets for Legislators.
Location: Auditorium, NC Museum of History, across from Legislative Building.
9:30-10:15 Briefing--Update on legislation and this year's request.
Location: Auditorium, NC Museum of History, across from Legislative Building.
10:15-3:30 Legislative visits
11:30-1:30 Ice Cream social
Location: North Portico of Legislative Building, between Legislative Building and
Legislative Office Building.
3:30-4:00 Debriefing
Location:Auditorium, NC Museum of History across street from Legislative Building.
5:30-7:30 Reception-- Mingle with legislators and state officials at Café Luna.
Location: 136 East Hargett Street. Take Jones St. east to Blount St. Turn right
onto Blount, go south 4 blocks to Hargett St. Café Luna is on corner of Hargett
& Blount Sts. Free parking is available after 6pm in the corner lot on Hargett
and Blount. Parking is also available on the street and city owned parking lots. 

Thursday, May 22: Conservation Meeting

We have a tree-mendous decision to make in Forsyth County. Join us for more conservation conversation about what we can do to promote the passage of a strong tree conservation ordinance for Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.  We will also consider the status of the Post-Construction Stormwater Ordinance Update and other conservation topics of the moment.
